"Let's Roll" are two words forever etched in our minds. These are the final words to be heard from the lips of a true hero named Todd Beamer.
On that morning of Sept. 11, 2001, at 10:03 a.m., United Flight 93 crashed into a field outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania, killing all on board.
The evil terrorists who had hijacked this plane were targeting the White House according to reports later released. What these evil terrorists did not count on was the courageous spirit of Todd Beamer and others on that plane.
These ordinary citizens became extraordinary heroes. Charging the cockpit, they attacked these evil cowards and, though they lost their lives, they averted an even more horrible disaster.
I have just finished reading the book, "Let's Roll" by Lisa Beamer, the courageous wife of Todd Beamer. I recommend everyone read it.
Lisa recounts the story of this horrible event. The most powerful part of their story is their dynamic faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
While Todd and Lisa Beamer have certainly become symbols of great courage, their message is clear: When you put your faith in God, He gives you the strength and courage to live by and the courage to die a true hero.
"Let's Roll" has become a battle cry for each of us when faced with adversity, even death: To be strong and courageous…to never quit…. Never give up.
And always remember: We have read the end of the book, and we win.
